Laboratory Simulation

Student: Emily

Hypothesis: The potato will become limp when placed in a hypertonic solution.

Strategy: I will place two different potato pieces into two solutions with different tonicities, then check to see which potato becomes limp or rigid.

Conclusion: The hypertonic solution draws water out of the cells, making them flexible, and the tissues become limp.
