Formulas to Memorize for Temperature Conversion ˚C to ˚F:

˚F = 1.8 (˚C) + 32

˚F to ˚C:

˚C = ˚F – 32 1.8

Intravenous Calculations  

round to the nearest whole drop (gtt) round to the nearest whole milliliter (mL) gtt = gtt (drop factor) x amount of solution (mL) x 1 hour min mL number of hours 60 min gtt/min = mL x gtt/mL (drop factor) min

Conversions to Memorize            

5 mL = 1 tsp 15 mL = 3 tsp = 1 tbs = 0.5 oz 30 mL = 6 tsp = 2 tbs = 1 oz 240 mL = 8 oz = 1 cup 500 mL = 1 pint 1000 mL = 1 quart = 1 L 1 kg = 1000 g 1 g = 1000 mg 1 mg = 1000 mcg 1 kg = 2.2 lb 1 lb = 16 oz 1 inch = 2.5 cm
