Winter 2021

Calculators: Only non-graphing and non-programmable calculators are permitted on any evaluation. General methodology used in conducting the course: The lectures will be posted on Blackboard before the class time. The website address for the Blackboard is https://blackboard.uwindsor.ca/ If you have any question about the lecture or homework then you can ask the questions during my office hours in the Virtual Classroom. Labs: Online lab assignments will begin on Friday, January 15 and run until day, April 26. Each section will have a total of 9 labs. Lab Assignments: Each online lab assignment will be posted on every Friday at 8pm. Students will be required to submit a lab assignment on or before 8pm on the following Friday. Each students assignment must be his/her own work. If a student misses a single lab (for any reason), the student will receive a zero in that lab. Lab assignments will be held on Mobius. You will need to purchase a license for a one time fee of 25 dollars for a year and covers all courses taken in that year. You can access it through Blackboard. You will be asked to pay the first time you access Mobius through blackboard. More details about Mobius will be posted in Blackboard closer to the date of the first lab assignment. Midterm and Final exam: The Midterm and Final Exam will be open book. Both examinations are timed, therefore you should have a reliable internet connection as well as a way to download the examination, scan your solutions in a single pdf file, and upload them to Blackboard within the allotted time. Academic Misconduct: The Midterm and Final Exam will be open book, but while writing these you must not communicate with any other person and you must not consult the internet or any material other than the course textbook, your course notes, assignments, quizzes, tests, and any material posted on the course Blackboard pages. If there is any evidence of academic misconduct, we will file an allegation of misconduct according to Bylaw 31. Missed Evaluations: There will be no makeup for labs or the midterm test. If a lab is missed it is assigned a grade of zero. If the midterm test or final exam is missed due to illness, then you need to use the self-report portal on Uwinsite If the midterm test or final exam is missed for a legitimate reason (other than illness), you need to contact me by email and provide valid written proof. Whether such reasons are legitimate will be determined by the instructor. In the case of a missed midterm exam, for legitimate reason, the value of the midterm test will be added to the value of the final exam. In the case of a missed

final exam, for legitimate reason, you will be given an opportunity to write a make-up exam. The make-up exam date, if needed for legitimate reasons only, is a requirement and not an option. There are no supplemental exams privileges in this course. Homework: Assignments will be given but will not be collected. It is very important to do your homework regularly. Some homework exercises will reappear (with trivial modifications) on test or exam. Evaluation:
