Tamayo, Carl Vincent Mathematics to Me is Everything Initially, Mathematics for me is all about letters, numbers, and endless equations and formulas because it is kind of difficult to appreciate the existence of Mathematics since most of the time, we, students find this subject boring and difficult to understand. My mathematics teacher in high school once said that math is everywhere and yet, we aren’t able to recognize it due to the fact that it doesn’t look like the mathematics that was taught in us in elementary. As time goes by, I realized that mathematics is sometimes invisible but it is not just about letters, numbers, and equations. It is more of experiences and comparison in life because math exists every day in our lives. As a part of growing up with mathematics, it teaches us to be patient. It also instills in us a sense of wonder; for example, during elementary and high school years I ask questions like why is this operation use here? What makes me think that number is negative? What's the point of having that equation built out that way? I come to think of the things like if we are taught math in the early age, we will learn to ask questions like these. The job of us, students is to grow up to be good individuals who are patient and wise, and who desire to learn more about anything which will interest us in everything. As I am writing this essay, I realized that math is present all the time; in our homes, in school, and in life as a whole. Mathematics to me is everything in a way that it exists in our daily agendas such as buying things, following a cookbook, decoration our rooms or homes, we are applying the principles of mathematics. I come to think that it is not just endless equations and formulas rather it plays a big role in our lives. As an average human beings, we tend to forget that mathematics also talks about

relationships, connections, relatedness, and other representations and with that I noticed that math is part of our success and victory because successes are a function of our endless efforts to achieve everything. Mathematics for me is everything and living each day without the connections of mathematics might be extremely difficult because as soon as I grew up I realized that math is the key that will unlock the door before you since it will help you in every step of life since having the ability to the basic mathematics such as algebra will determine how will you take the journey the life whether you will take the short cut or the detour of life. Aside from those, one of the most underrated sciences is mathematics without knowing that there is no such area where the concept of mathematics is not used. A person just cannot do without this subject and that is why it is essential to keep your basics right to perform the everyday activities of life. Hence, imagining our lives without it is like a ship without a sail where we cannot navigate the directions of where should we really go next. To summarize, mathematics has a lot of positive aspects, and it demonstrates to us that arithmetic is everywhere in nature. One of the things we can observe in the world is patterns. It assists us in making our daily tasks easier, and mathematics is the reason for the existence of buildings and other structures. Above all, the answer to the question “What is mathematics to me?” is that Mathematics is everywhere, we might not notice it in our day to day life; it is always there helping us solve our problems. We must always dig deeper when it comes to mathematics, in order for us to realize that it is not just about numbers and equations rather it is more of a language which everyone is using every day....
