Merla® valves (commonly called “chokes”) that are offered on this website, are original Merla® designs, with decades of proven field history and design improvement.Merla® valves are known worldwide for reliability, sound engineering, and great service. The product line consists of these familiar offerings:

FCV Series Stem and seat type Flow Control Valves are excellent for controlling gas injection in gas lift manifolds, small water flood projects or any similar type applications.

ACV Series Large stem and seat type Adjustable Choke Valves are for use as a wellhead production choke or in water or gas injection and thermal recovery applications. Ported Cage trims combat, cavitation, erosion and noise where mono and multiphase high flow rates and differentials are encountered.

Rotary Electric Actuator Series Electrically driven rotary motors that are directly coupled to FCV. These actuators controlled by digital pulse duration or analog signals transmitted from a remote location will provide precise control of the flow.

Adjustable Choke Valves ACV-5 adjustable choke valve with operating detail and valve trim options.

ACV-5 Ported Cage Trim Choke Valve

ACV-5 Adjustable Choke Valves have a wide Applications range of applications in the oil, gas, and water service Oil, gas, and water service industry. The ACV-5 Series Valves are available with a standard Stainless Steel Valve Stem and Seat trim Benefits design. These valves are used where high flow rates and Cavitation and erosion protec high differentials are encountered. The ACV-5 can be Noise suppression Internal component replacem used for applications as wellheads production chokes, without removing valve body secondary recovery projects for water and gas injection from line or as thermal recovery. The ACV-5 Valve Body is available with 2”, 2 ½”, Features or 3” flanged end-connections and 3/4”, 1” or 1-1/4” trim Single-element, external-slee size allowing proper match of the valve to the expected trim design flow rate. All of our ACV-5 chokes currently have a Multiple-ported sleeve design standard maximum working pressure of 10,000 psi upstream of the flow-throttlin [68,950 KPa]. The many features and benefits offered by element the ACV-5 includes our standard stainless steel indicator ring, calibrated in 64th of an inch, providing accurate and adjustable flow control. And with sealing integrating in mind, our spring loaded Teflon® packing design forms a bubble-tight stem seal. Tungsten Carbide (T.C.) Trim Design ACV-5 Adjustable Choke Valves are also available with a 3/4”, 1” or 1-1/4” Tungsten Carbide (T. C.) Trim. The T.C. Trim, because of its exceptional properties, has emerged as the superior alternative to stainless steel for many applications. Considering its wear resistance and hardness, Tungsten Carbide, is ideally suited for our stem and seat inserts which are subject to severe service conditions. Thanks to its longer wear qualities, Merla's T. C. Trim Valves, translate into significant cost savings to our customer by increasing productivity and reducing down time to replace worn components.

Cavrosion Valve Trim This single-element, external-sleeve trim design results in reduced cavitation by creating multiple pressure drops and dividing flow. The Cavrosion* valve trim is used in the same choke body as standard trim, and it is designed to afford the same linear flow characteristics as a standard feature. The valve seat is removed from the high-flow area, and tungsten carbide components are used for throttling the flow. The tungsten-carbide throat extends below the seat and allows the cavitation to dissipate within the trim.
