Strawberries, bananas, potatoes, squash. o Deficiency symptoms= irregular heart beat, muscular weakness, and glucose intolerance  Calcium: Most abundant mineral in the body, found in milk, yogurt, cheddar cheese, sardines have an abundant amount of calcium. o Deficiency symptoms= limits bones ability to reach optimal mass and density o Toxicity= Constipation, urinary stones, kidney dysfunction, interferes with other mineral absorption  Sodium: Found in mainly in table salt and soy sauce and some meats o Toxicity: Edema, acute hypertension o 3. What are symptoms of dehydration?  Symptoms of dehydration include; thirst, dry skin and mucous membranes, rapid heartbeat, low BP, and weakness 4. What are symptoms of water intoxication?  Symptoms of water intoxication include; confusion, convulsion, and even death in extreme cases. Dilutes sodium concentration of the blood and contributes to a dangerous condition known as hyponatremia 5. How much of lean tissue is water and how much is fat?  There is 75% water in lean tissue and 25% in fat tissue 6. What regulates thirst?  Thirst is regulated by the mouth, hypothalamus and nerves. Mouth will become try when there is not enough water intake and the hypothalamus initiates drinking behavior. 7. What blocks calcium absorption?  Calcium absorption is aided by the stomach acid and vitamin d helps to make the calcium binding protein.
