(2 marks) Scheduling is difficult because  Multimedia creation is basically artistic trial and error. You may have to waste up a lot of time to edit and fine tune the multimedia elements until they are smoothly functional. (5 marks)  Computer hardware and software technology are in constant flux. Briefly explain the THREE animation spaces. [11 marks] Ans: Animation is defined as the act of making something come alive. (2 marks) The three animation spaces are as follows: (3 marks @, 1 mark for name, 2 marks for explanations, total 9 marks) 1. 2-D space - 2-D animations are very simple and static. 2. 2-1/2D space - An illusion of depth is created through shadowing, highlighting, and forced perspective, though in reality the image rests in two dimensions.

b. What does multimedia authoring tool usually provide? There are THREE types of authoring tools. Briefly explain each type. [14 marks] Ans: Multimedia authoring tools provide the framework for organizing and editing the elements of a multimedia project. (5 marks) (Or it provides an integrated environment for combining (or manage individual) multimedia elements and provide user interaction of a project.) Three types of authoring tools: (3 marks @, 1 mark for name, 2 marks for explanations, total 9 marks) a. Card- and page-based tools.  It provides a simple and easily understood metaphor for organizing multimedia elements.  It provides a facility for linking objects to pages or cards. b. Icon-based, event-driven tools.  It provides a visual programming approach to organize and present multimedia.  Multimedia elements and interaction cues are organized as objects in a flowchart. c.
