Description

PEDro scale (https://www.pedro.org.au/english/downloads/pedro-scale/) Students are to use the PEDro quality appraisal tool for randomised controlled trials. Present this section up as a table. For each criterion, please ensure that you include the criterion number, whether it was satisfied or not. If the criterion has been satisfied, ensure you refer to the section/paragraph in your study where you determined that the item was satisfied (e.g. page 3, paragraph 2, see ‘Allocation concealment’. Also, include the total score of the PEDro scale (out of 10). Remember that item 1 of the PEDro scale is not included in the total score Criterion number 1. Eligibility criteria were specified (note this isn’t included in the total PEDro score) 2. Subjects were randomly allocated to groups (in a crossover study, subjects were randomly allocated an order in which treatments were received)

3. Allocation was concealed 4. The groups were similar at baseline regarding the most important prognostic indicators 5. There was blinding of all subjects 6. There was blinding of all therapists who administered the therapy 7. There was blinding of all assessors who measured at least one key outcome 8. Measures of at least one key outcome were obtained from more than 85% of the subjects initially allocated to groups 9. All subjects for whom

Satisfied or not satisfied

Where in the study is this information found with explanation?

outcome measures were available received the treatment or control condition as allocated or, where this was not the case, data for at least one key outcome was analysed by “intention to treat” 10. The results of betweengroup statistical comparisons are reported for at least one key outcome 11. The study provides both point measures and measures of variability for at least one key outcome Total score
