In the past there are events wherein they tried various solutions to this problem. For example, in the case of the cane toad which are native in southern and central America that were introduced to Australia on purpose. There were suggestions that they should bring the natural predators of the cane toad to Australia to eradicate them, but it was too risky bringing another non-native species because this is the root cause of this problem. But they found the meat ants which were native in Australia that can eat and kill cane toads without being poisoned. Another example is the eradication of species in Macquarie’s Island, they introduced various foreign species like the rats, mice, cats, rabbits, and trained dogs. To eradicate all these species they introduced the cats to remove the rodents, introduced a rabbit disease to eliminate some of the rabbits, shot the cats, and they brought in trained dogs to hunt down the rabbits. This started in the 1800s but the island was only eradicated last April 2014, this proves that it is very time consuming, difficult, and expensive to deal with this problem, but the eradication in Macquarie’s Island is a living proof that this problem can be solved....
