How to handle internal factors. a. DO not let interprofessional or intraprofessional competition and antagonism from the past drive the present and future. b. Integrate work to provide the best care

Share responsibility and accountability for patient care outcomes. f. Handle conflict in a positive manner Chapter 2 The Essence of Nursing: Knowledge and Caring  Essentials of the nursing profession o Provision of a caring relationship that facilitates health and healing o Attention to the range of human experiences and responses to health and illness within the physical and social environments. o Integration of assessment data with knowledge gained from an appreciation of the patient or the group. o Application of scientific knowledge to the processes of diagnosis and treatment through the use of judgment and critical thinking. o Advancement of professional nursing knowledge through scholarly inquiry o Influence on social and public policy to promote social justice. o Assurance of safe, quality, and evidence-based practice  Definition of critical thinking is clearly a focus of nursing practice. It is a tool, albeit not the only one use in nursing: Purposeful thinking, generate questions, Examine problems, Nursing process (Assessment, Diagnosis, Planning, Implementation, Evaluation) 
