CLASS MEETING SITE(S): UBlearns, online COURSE DESCRIPTION: The course introduces the importance of the six dimensions of personal wellness and fitness. The course will provide the necessary knowledge and skills to make informed decision which will lead to the development of a healthy lifestyle. Various issues related to the dimensions of wellness will be discussed. Students will gain a level of understanding about one’s own fitness level as well as learn a variety of skills to enhance personal wellness. Methods of Assessment: Learning Objectives Students will learn via lecture, class assignments, readings and exam.

Gain factual knowledge related to the area of health and wellness. Demonstrate concepts fostering wellness of the mind and body.

Students will learn via classrooms activities.

Develop and enhance personal qualities of self-awareness, focus, perseverance, confidence and responsibility.

Students will develop skills through readings and assignments.

Students will show proficiency through exam and assignments.

MAJOR TOPICS AND ACTIVITIES: participation, instruction REQUIRED TEXT: None. CLASSROOM ETIQUETTE: Students are expected to participate fully in all class exercises, activities and lectures. Online participation is considered as the following: active listening to recorded lecture, note taking of recorded lectures, complete reading of all assigned readings. GRADING POLICY: Grading is based upon participation, willingness, response paper, completion and final exam. Attendance & Participation: Participation in class sessions is required. Students are responsible for all course content taught via UBlearns.
