Unit 7 Planning- Rehearsal Schedule Performance Title: Voices of Macbeth W/C

Aim

9/3

This week we aim to have come up with a strong idea which we can fully agree on and stick to. We want to have a full narrative and have chosen the characters which will be included in the piece. We will also have an idea of what style of theatre we will be using and how this will be used to positively influence the performance. This week we will begin blocking the scenes so that we have a rough idea of how we will be presenting the story and we can begin to think about the staging. We will also have distributed the character roles to the group members and have a script which is almost completed so we can begin learning lines as soon as possible. We aim to begin the practical work at the start of this week and have the first scene finished by the end, possibly moving on to the second scene.

16/3

23/3

13/4

We will recap the scenes we finished in the previous week. By the end of the week we aim to have completed at least two thirds of the scenes to a rough standard.

20/4

This week we will attend a full day’s rehearsal during the Easter break so that we can really focus on the piece and complete the final third of the scenes, again to a rough standard.

27/4

This week all of the scenes will be completed and we will begin working on the smaller areas such as timing, synchronisation, refining movements and staging and ensuring that the scene transitions are smooth. This week we will have our technical rehearsal on Thursday the 7 th of May. The performance will be finished to a good standard, however, we think that there will still be some aspects which we will need to work on and improve.

4/5

11/5

18/5

Following the technical rehearsal we will listen to our feedback and make any necessary changes or improvements to the piece so that it will run better. The Open Evening Dress Rehearsal will be on Tuesday the 12th of May so we will need to make sure we are doing full run-throughs so that we are properly prepared for the first performance in front of an audience. We will use the feedback from the audience to make improvements and change anything which still doesn’t work by this point in the timeframe. We will watch back the recording from the performance evening and listen to the feedback from our tutor. Following this we will again make any necessary improvements. I believe it will

be too late to make any major changes at this point. The Examination will be on Tuesday the 19th of May We will need to prepare for this in the same way we did for the dress rehearsal by working on timing, synchronisation, refinement and transitions. We will also need to personally work on our characterisation to make sure that the performances are at the best standard they can be at....
