Mormons: Founded by Joseph Smith, went into woods and God and Jesus gave revelation to start own church. Wrote book of Mormon, inspired by two thin golden plates from an angel. They

believe in the Trinity, but believe they are 3 separate gods. First the Heavenly father, a mortal man who attained divinity, had intercourse with a celestial wife and had Jesus. One critical factor for Mormons is determining who can or cannot be saved from sin is the acceptance of the gospel of Jesus Christ in its fullness. Mormons believe in hell, but only temporary punishments and all will be saved one day. Christian Science: Founded by Mary Baker Eddy. Suffered illness since young and no physicians nor hypnotist could cure her, she eventually was cured by reading an account of the miraculous healings of JC in the New testament. Which led to the discovery of the Science of Christianity. They believe that all reality is spiritual. Matter and body, evil, diseases, suffering, death are nothing more than mental errors created by human limited minds (illusion). God is the Father-Mother to all, Holy Spirit is God’s loving relationship with creation. When they become ill, they turn to prayer for God’s healing love instead of vaccinations. Adventism: The adventist movement is based on the return of Christ to earth. It began when William Miller and a group of people predicted the coming of Christ to be between March 21, 1843 and March 21, 1844, which became the Great Disappointment. Ellen White is the founder of Seventh-day Adventists. White taught that the second coming was delayed because people did not follow the ten commandments. They practice vegetarianism, and abstain from alcohol and tobacco, in hopes to live a healthy lifestyle because the body is a temple of the Holy Spirit. Their message is preaching that the world must be prepared for the second coming. Jehovah’s Witness: Founded by Charles Taze Russell. They get their name from the King James Bible, vocalized the biblical Hebrew name for God. Similar to the Adventist, they predict the second coming of christ. Russell first predicted that the second coming would occur in 1974, when Christ would return invisibly to prepare for the kingdom of god. After a many disconfirmed “prophecies”, the Witnesses became wary of fixing dates for the apocalypse and generally proclaim the second coming is sooner than later. Witnesses do not believe in the trinity, they believe that the Son is simply the first of God’s creation. Holy Spirit as God’s active force within persons of true Christian faith. Witnesses refuse military service and do not salute the flag nor hold any government offices. They also refuse blood transfusions because the bible prohibits ingesting blood. Their message is to preach and to prepare everyone for the second coming....
