Congratulations on your acceptance to Turning Point USA’s Student Action Summit! We look forward to seeing you in West Palm Beach, FL very soon! This packet is designed to provide you with an overview of details, logistics, and other pertinent details about the trip. EVENT DATES: Turning Point USA’s fourth annual Student Action Summit will take place in West Palm Beach, FL from December 19th-22nd, 2018. More details about the conference can be found at www.tpusa.com/sas.  ACTION ITEMS: Students planning to attend the Student Action Summit must complete the following action items by Monday, November 26, 2018: ❏ Confirm your attendance at http://tpusa.com/confirmsas/. ❏ Book travel reservations to/from West Palm Beach, FL. Attendees (including those who receive travel scholarships) are fully responsible for coordinating their own travel. Keep in mind that flight prices tend to increase the longer you wait, so please book your flight as soon as possible.  CONFERENCE LOCATION: All conference sessions will take place at the Palm Beach County Convention Center (650 Okeechobee Blvd, West Palm Beach, FL 33401). General sessions will take place in Exhibit Hall B. ADMISSION/CONFERENCE BADGE: Your conference badge will allow you to attend all general sessions, networking events, and trainings, and will be given to you upon arrival in West Palm Beach, FL. Registration is $30 and is non-refundable. TPUSA CONFERENCE CHECK-IN: Upon arrival to your assigned hotel, please feel free to check-in to your hotel room by stopping by the front desk. Please note if you check-in at the hotel before 3pm your room may not be ready. From 12:00pm - 5:00pm, TPUSA will have Attendee Check-In for the conference on the lobby entrance of the Palm Beach County Convention Center. Please stop by our table between those hours to officially check-in and receive your general admission badge. TPUSA will have late check-in during opening session. VIP ACCESS PACKAGE: Students will have the ability to purchase VIP access to SAS for the price of $500 (early bird pricing until October 1st will be $450) on the SAS Confirmation form. Package includes admission, VIP seating in general session, a ticket to the SAS ball, and access to the VIP lounge. 

  ADULT TICKETS: If your parent or guest would like to purchase tickets to the event, they can do so at this link: https://studentactionsummit.eventbrite.com. Early bird pricing will run until October 1, 2018.  TRAVEL TO/FROM WEST PALM BEACH, FL: Attendees should plan to arrive in West Palm Beach on December 19th, 2018, and depart on December 22nd, 2018. More specific arrival and departure details are outlined below.  If you are driving to West Palm Beach, FL , please plan to arrive at the hotel by 3:00 PM EST on Wednesday, December 19, 2018. Upon arrival you may check-in to your hotel room and check-in with TPUSA staff on the first floor of the Palm Beach County Convention Center. The hotel allows guests to check-in to rooms beginning at 3:00pm; if you arrive earlier your room may not be ready. If you are flying to West Palm Beach, FL , please plan to fly into Palm Beach Airport (PBI) airport. Depending on which hotel you are staying at, the hotel will provide a complimentary shuttle to and from the airport. Our Opening Session begins at 5:30 PM EST on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 (doors open at 5:00pm EST). We recommend that you land at PBI airport anytime at or before 2:30 PM EST on 12/19/2018 to ensure that you make it on time to the first session. The hotel allows guests to check-in to rooms beginning at 3:00pm; if you arrive earlier your room may not be ready.  DEPARTURE: The general session ends at 12:30 PM on Saturday, December 22, 2018. If you are flying, we recommend that you book your flight sometime after 2:30 PM EST. Attendees are required to attend the full duration of the conference. Failure to attend all sessions from Wednesday, 12/19 - Saturday, 12/22 will result in the attendee being charged with a $200 fee (the cost of their lodging and general admission). Any exceptions must be approved in writing by a TPUSA staff member in the Events Department.  MEALS: Turning Point USA will not be providing free meals. There will be concession stands to purchase lunch on Thursday 12/20 and Friday 12/21 in the Exhibit Hall of the Convention Center. There will be speciality lunches you can purchase tickets to attend. PACKING LIST ❏ Business Casual Attire for Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday ❏ Casual Attire for Free Time/Evening Functions ❏ Personal Toiletries (the hotel provides towels, shampoo, conditioner, etc.) ❏ Swimsuit (if you plan to go to the pool/beach) ❏ Travel Itinerary (and a photo ID for boarding the plane and checking into your room) ❏ Credit Card (required for room charges/incidentals on your hotel room) ❏ Spending Money (for food and extracurricular activities you may want to do)     

  CANCELLATION POLICY: Students wishing to cancel their attendance can do so at tpusa.com/eventcancellation. Please note that students cancelling on/after December 3rd, 2018 will be required to pay a fine of $200 (cost of hotel room and other conference fees). The registration fee is non-refundable.  SECURITY: Turning Point USA takes safety and security of all its attendees seriously. In order to protect attendees, TPUSA has hired Shaffer Security Group to monitor safety during the conference. The Palm Beach county police along with convention center security will be around to assist Shaffer Security. In addition to this, TPUSA staff members will be split up between all the below listed hotels to serve as a point of contact each night. Please make sure to practice common sense safety measures (i.e. never travel alone and always be in groups). In addition, if protestors do show up to the event, please keep your distance as your safety is important. If students are found counter-protesting, their admission badges will be revoked. Since we began developing large-scale conferences, we have always maintained a strong zero-tolerance policy for any harmful behavior or activity and handle every reported circumstance swiftly. Attendee Behavior: Y  ou acknowledge that your attendance at TPUSA’s Student Action Summit is granted solely at TPUSA’s discretion. Failure to provide true and accurate name and personal contact information is grounds for cancellation of your SAS registration. TPUSA reserves the right to deny access to participants who behave in a manner that TPUSA deems disruptive (i.e. underage drinking, excessive drinking, consumption of illegal drugs, sexual assault, loud or belligerent speech, profanity, bullying, harassment, illegal activity of any kind, etc). Any participant being expelled from SAS will not be afforded a refund or credit for incurred expenses. TPUSA is also not liable for hotel or travel costs incurred by a participant being expelled from SAS. SAS attendees are subject to the laws applicable in the United States and the state of Florida. Physical force or threats of physical force of theft of property by SAS conference attendees will be dealt with in accordance with the laws of the U.S. and Florida. If you ever feel uncomfortable, please contact a TPUSA staff member right away.  MINORS: TPUSA loves the involvement from high school students and that they are getting involved in the conservative movement at a young age. In order to make minors feel safe, they will be assigned a TPUSA staff member as their conference point of contact. They will be required to share their location and text their staff member every night. In addition, if you are a minor needing assistance to and from the convention center from your hotel, please contact your TPUSA staff member. PRESS: Please note that members of the press will be present at the Student Action Summit. If you are approached to do a press interview, please do not feel obligated. If you are interested in joining a list of students to be interviewed by press (your information will be submitted to news outlets if requested by them), then please email our media team at [email protected]. If approved, you will receive media training on how to do an interview.    

LODGING: Turning Point USA will provide lodging at a discounted rate at the following hotels for attendees on the night of Wednesday (12/19), Thursday (12/20), and Friday (12/21). Attendees are expected to vacate the hotel by noon on Sat., 12/22. Please leave your luggage with the hotel front desk before coming to the convention center. Please plan to share a room with up to 3 other TPUSA attendees of the same gender and similar age. Roommate requests will be accepted on the official SAS Confirmation form (h  ttp://tpusa.com/confirmsas/). Roommate requests will not be honored if the same hotel was not selected upon confirming. The hotel rooms will be pre-paid by TPUSA, but attendees may need to put down a personal credit card for room charges or incidentals. Hotel choices on the confirmation form (tpusa.com/confirmsas) will be final. Free ride shuttles will be offered between PBCCC, Marriott, and Hyatt Place two hours before and after general sessions. These shuttles can accommodate up to 20 people at a time.
