Moving on to the review of the literature. So in this study we are trying to investigate the relationship between interpersonal relationship which is our dependent variable and 4 independent variables which are social media addiction, social isolation, ineffective communication and unrealistic expectation. The first two variable will be explained by while the other two will be explained by Amani.

For the first section of the literature that we examine which is the relationship between social media addiction and interpersonal relationship, we found that the excessive use of social networking sites (SNS) does have a significant impact on the emotional bonds and physical presence among family members (Ngonidzashe, 2016). Which means that the time spent on social media may cause distance or even conflict among interpersonal relationships, especially when spending time at home together as a family unit. Moving on to the second relationship which is between social isolation and interpersonal relationship. Katherine Hobson (2017) states that people tend to isolate or distance themselves from the public because they are dependable on their social media instead of socializing with others. They are not motivated to engage or having social interactions because they already feel comfortable in their zone. Hence, this shows that there is a positive relationship between social isolation and interpersonal relationships....
