Complications Headache, acute pancreatitis, N/V/D, abdominal pain, constipation, acute renal failure, worsening renal function, stevens-johnson syndrome, rash, urticaria, cutaneous vasculitis, angioedema, anaphylaxis

Contraindications/Precautions Hypersensitivity to sitagliptin Nursing Interventions
Interactions Digoxin, Beta Blockers, ACE inhibitors, disopyramide, fluoxetine, insulin, or insulin secreatagogue such as sulfonylureas
monitor blood glucose levels, assess renal fxn before treatment and during treatment, monitor for hypersensitivity rxn, monitor for s/s for HF and if presents report immediately
Client Education Evaluation of Medication Effectiveness Patient will have controlled blood glucose levels and no renal damage present.
