Student Guide to Completing the MYOB Assignment This assignment requires the use of MYOB, an accounting software widely used by small and medium size businesses, to process accounting transactions in a business cash study. To complete the assignment, students will need: • The assigned Case Study (available within the “Assessment Task 1 (Part 2): MYOB Assignment” page on Canvas); and • The MYOB AccountRight Plus software.

MYOB Software – AccountRight Plus version The MYOB software is available on all UTS computers and also available to use for a free 30 day trial at https://www.myob.com/au/accounting-software/free-trial Important note: The MYOB version required to be used is AccountRight Plus for both PC and Mac users. PC users will be able to use the AccountRight Plus Version without issue while Mac users will need to follow the steps in the next student guide (titled “Instructions to access MYOB from UTS Workspace – for Mac users” to access and use this version. The MYOB Essentials version should NOT be used to complete the assignment.







If you have issues when selecting the “I need MYOB for study (students only)” option, you can select “I want to try AccountRight” and simply fill out the details as requested.

Once set up, you will be able to Download MYOB AccountRight. Open and Install the software. Alternatively, you can download a Student Edition at this link: https://community.myob.com/t5/AccountRight-Student-Edition/MYOB-StudentEdition-Download-links/td-p/402974 When you access this link, you must scroll to the bottom and download the AccountRight Plus version:

  Follow the prompts to download this software onto your computer. Note for Mac-users: If you are a Mac user – you will need to follow the steps in the next student guide titled “Instructions to access MYOB from UTS Workspace – for Mac users” to access and use MYOB AccountRight Plus. NOTE FOR ALL STUDNETS: If you encounter technical issues in completing the assignment, you must contact the Subject Coordinator at least 1 week prior to the assignment due date, otherwise special consideration will not be provided.

Submitting the Assignment You will be submitting the assignment via a Microsoft Forms page provided by your tutor closer to the assignment due date.
