Susan lived in upstate New York, 42 years old and has three children Relationship started at 18, she falls in love with 26 year old Ulner He was a musician and she worked for an insurance company When the couple got comfortable enough her husband became very demanding and controlling just like her father when she was younger  The more she tried to comply, the more he became obsessive  Susan does whatever it takes to save her relationship with her husband    

 Husband conducted “family meetings” to discuss what “mommy did wrong”  Her kids were brain washed and completely on their father side  Verbal abuse turned into fist fights  What kept her staying was the thought of her children  Her boss was the one to figure out something was wrong by the way she talked to her husband on the phone. He forces her to call her “master”  She stayed because she didn’t want to see her family destroyed  Breaking point was when her husband demands their 13 year-old son to record him emotionally and physically abusing Susan  Husbands wants the tape to prove his anger is justified; taped her for 51 mins  The next day she left her husband  With the help of the Amherst, N.Y., police, Susan and her two sons escaped and entered a shelter. Susan's oldest daughter chose to return home to her father.  Susan headed to court to face Ulner. The video provided a single incident of violence.  The prosecution charged Ulner with twelve separate assaults against his wife.  Ulner was found guilty on all counts, and the judge sentenced him to thirty-six years...
