Syrian Refugees after watching the film and reading the articles, what do you think is the best policy for Texas and the U.S going forward in regards to the refugees? By now you should have a basic understanding of the problem in Syria and also the vetting process. Think hard about this. Remember that there is no perfect policy. Public policy always produces winners and losers, and governments have to make tough decisions like this one. After watching the film and reading the article, I think that is some changes that need to be made. The system we have in place now, may seem okay, but there is many flaws in them. It takes 6 months to go through the screening process, that is a long time, but if a member of ISIS wants to come and destroy America, they will go through the process. To better this policy, the government should mandate all refugees to do a follow up every couple of months. This way they know what they are up to. Or the government can randomly check up on the people. This may be against the “American way,” but if it is for the safety of the country, I think it should be okay to have these check-ups. If I had the choice, I would say no to allowing any refugees into America because that would not only jeopardize our safety, but it will also bring fear to the people who live by them. I know all of them are not bad, but also not knowing whether they are good brings fear....
