POL 101, 2019-2020 Take-home exam Distributed March 30, 2020 Due: April 13th, 9:00pm EST You should submit your responses via Turnitin.com. Instructions: 1. You are expected to answer each question in an essay format, with an introduction that puts forward your answer to the question, body paragraphs which add additional information and evidence to support your argument, and a conclusion. 2. You must limit your response to 600 words per question. 3. The exam is "open book": you may use lecture notes and readings, but you should not discuss the topics with other students or with the TA's. 4. You may use any of the texts or lectures covered in POL 101 this year to answer your question. 5. Additional sources not used in POL 101 this year are not permitted. 6. When you quote or take an idea directly from another author, you must provide a citation in the format (Author, Page ##). Lectures should be cited as (Balot, date) or (Jung, Date). 7. You are not required to submit a works cited page or bibliography. 8. If you require clarifications regarding the format of the exam, you should contact your tutorial TA. However, your TA will not be able to answer any questions related to the substance of the exam. Please answer both questions. The word limit for your response to each question is 600 words.
