(Impact of WW11) African American WW2 - African American had a huge impact in the work force. Before the Executive Order 8802 the African Americans were not allowed to be involved in certain things. Thanks to the order it allowed the African American to be involved in the forces during the war. 442nd Regimental Combat Team - This term was used as the “Go for broke” this saying was a way to giving it your all. This was a way for the Japanese to show that they were the best. Zoot Suit Riots - Conflict between the Sailors from War and Mexican Americans. The sailors were saying they were going to look for pachucos but instead they just wanted to fight the Mexican Americans. Latinos were blamed for the outbreak. Navajo Code Talkers - A strategy that was used for language to not be known by others. This language was a very different way to pass communitive information. This strategy was used to sent information so that no one understands. Women in the war - Women had a role during the war. In the war for the way that women helped it proved to others that the women can do a good deed to the society. This type of work for the women was because their men were at war and the women had to take over the jobs that the men had. This was a change for the women. (WW2 Home Front) Wartime Producton - This production was used to benefit the war. This process was to gain things for help to win the war. This caused changes in the work force. This work force was how they will need more factories and workers. This benefited the Great Depression because many people recieved jobs. FDR had mentioned Arsenal of Democracy which was how he mentioned a power of help to win the war. Western cities became home for the industries where they created weapons that were used at war. Women - Rosie the Riveter was a way of propaganda. There were roles for women in the work area. Rosie the Riveter was a strategy to show that women can make a difference in the society. This gave many job opportunities to the ladies. The ladies worked where the men onced worked. African American - There was plenty of discrimination for the African American The Executive Order 8802 was to end discrimination in defense industries and government. Latinos - Bracero program was a way that immigration encouraged to find more workers. This allowed the latinos to work which was beneficial to them. This gave opportunities to the farmers in the south west. Latinos served in the war efforts but they were harmed. Such as they werent allowed to speak spanish. Zoot suit riots had occured which was a situation when the US sailors looked to attack the Mexican American. Latinos were blamed. Japanese Internment - The US was scared of the nations of the Japanese which is how FDR had came up with the Executive Order 9066 where the japanese were sent to an internment camps. These camps would allow the Japanese to prevent sabotage. Although a japanese man refused and was arrested he was Fred Korematsu. US Response to the Holocaust - US had liberated the concentration and death camps. Nuremburg Trials was a reponse the US had done to convicats Nazis of crimes against humanity. Yalta and Potsdam Conference was used to discuss what would occur after the war....
