Abstract English is one of the International languages that is very important for all Indonesian students. We all taught from elementary school up to university. In teaching English, there are four language skills. They are listening, speaking, reading and writing. This article will discussed about the effect of ising digital tools in writing. The one popoular aoolication in writing is Wattpad. Wattpad is a community for readers and writers where they can read and write many genres, fiction, nonfiction, spiritual, etc.

Therefore, the teachers can use this

application to teach writing. It will motivate the students to express their ideas in writing. The students are more motivated because their writing would be read by many people all over the world. Some readers give comment on their writing which help them be better in their next writing. Based on the above results, theconcludes that the use of Wattpad application as media in writing can improve the students’ learning motivation in writing and the writing skill.

1. INTRODUCTION English is one of the international languages. In teaching English, there are four language skills. They are listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Writing is a language skill to express opinions, feelings, and ideas into the arrangement. As a part of language skill, writing is very important to support communication among human being. Language is not only spoken, but also written. It is a basic language skill, just as important as speaking, listening, and reading. So that, writing must be taught for student. Jeremy Harmer explains the

reason for teaching writing to students of English as a foreign language include reinforcement, language development, learning style, and most importantly, writing is a skill in its own right. According to Kern, writing is different from reading. Writing involves designing texts to construct a potentiality for that realized discourse, while reading involves creating discourse from texts, although the both writing and reading involve the use of available designs as resource in dialogic negotiation between internal and external representation of meaning. Writing is a process of creating, organizing, writing and polishing. In the first step of the process, you create ideas. In the second step, you organize the ideas, in the third step, you write a rough draft, in the final step, you polish your rough draft by editing it and making revisions. Wattpad provides the writers with an opportunity to write, promote and help their work reach across a wide and varied audience of more than a million users. The users are actively engaged in the entire process and are able to directly interact with the writers and share their opinions with fellow readers. Wattpad is available in over 50 languages, 77% of its content is written in English. This is to help these stories reach a larger part of the community, a number of Wattpad users are volunteering their time to translate stories.

3. Research Method The research is classroom action research. The writer carried out this research to know whether using Wattpad had positive influence students writing skill or not. This research was divided into Pre-Cycle and two-Cycles, they are: Cycle I and Cycle II. The writer gave writing test in pre-Cycle to know the students’ ability in writing skill. The subject of the research is X IPA 1 of MAN 1 DELI SERDANG in the school year of 2018/2019. The writer chooses X IPA 1. They are 37 students which consists 15 males and 22 females. To collect the data the writer used questionnaire, observation. In analyzing data, the writer used quantitative and qualitative method.

4. Results and Discussion The results of this research are presented on the data of test and non-test that were obtained during the teaching-learning process. The data of test are divided into three phases. They were Pre-Cycle, Cycle I, and Cycle II test. The non-test data were obtained from the observation and questionnaires sheets. From the above data, the writer concluded that the implementation of Wattpad application as media can increase the students’ motivation in writing recount text writing skill. The questionnaire is given in the pre cycle, cycle I and cycle II. The result of the questionnaires can be seen in this following table 3.2 Table 2. From the above tables, it can be concluded that there were improvements on the students’ behavior in learning English, especially the responses to Wattpad application as media. The use of Wattpad application as media in teaching writing recount text can improve the students writing skills, it can be seen from the results of questionnaire and

observation also the improvement of the students average score in all Cycle I. Wattpad application can be used in speaking and reading skills.

5. Conclusion To summarize, teaching writing using Wattpad can help the teacher to improve the students' writing skill. It can solve the main students' problem in writing. The students feel confident to express their idea in their writing and publish it in Wattpad which is not only beneficial for the teacher but also for students. The teacher can encourage and guide the students in writing with pleasuring media. The students are happy and motivated to do their tasks because their writing are not only read by the teacher but also their friends and even some people they do not know before.
