SmarterMeasure Self- Assessments: Student Guide During weeks 3, 4, and 5 of Humanities 1001, you will be asked to complete a quiz via SmarterMeasure. You receive points in this course for completing the self-assessments, but your score on the self-assessments themselves do not count toward your grade in this or any future course; rather, your score will allow you to have a productive dialogue with your Academic Advisor about a customized course sequence that will best support your success in your studies. To complete the Self-Assessments: • • • •

Select the Quiz – Week 3, 4, or 5 link in your classroom Fill out the initial information. Click Continue and you will be taken to the SmarterMeasure self-assessments. As you complete the quiz, there is no way to go back and change your answers once you’ve gone to a new screen. Your responses are final unless you select the Save and Return Later button (more on that below).

What technical requirements do I need to run SmarterMeasure? • • • • • • • •

Access to the Internet 28.8K modem or faster (A minimum 56k modem is recommended to download components such as audio files.) Cookies set to enabled Java Script set to enabled Firewall Set to not block cookies or access to a secure server Pop-up Blocking set to disabled Audio Speakers Turned On Download Adobe Acrobat Reader Download Macromedia Flash Player

You will have the ability to stop and save your work so that it can be finished at a later time. HOWEVER, these assessments are not that long. We suggest finishing in one sitting.

As you proceed through screens by hitting a Next or Continue button at the bottom of your assessment, your responses are recorded. Once you’ve completed the last part of that week’s SmarterMeasure assessment, you’ll be taken to a Results page. Click on the red bar to go to the next section to see all the info about your results. The screen you’ll get looks like this and shows that you’ve successfully finished the SmarterMeasure parts for the week:

You should Print/Download or Email Report for your records. Upon completion of this course, you may lose access to your results electronically so you may print or email them to have a copy for your records. You can return to the Results page during the class by clicking the same links you used to get to the quiz....
