Preface. Anyone can know the content for a subject but the trick is whether you are able to present that knowledge to examiners in a way that is succinct and satisfies all requirements of the question. It is for this reason that this study guide will be an invaluable asset during your Business Management journey. I believe this book is a perfect revision tool for three reasons: 1. This book contains predicted questions for what your SACs and the final exam will contain using the same thought process that allowed me to predict questions for my exam. These predictions also contain a variety of tricks which aims to encourage you to be more pedantic when responding to actual assessment tasks and think outside the box when it comes to application questions. 2. The model solutions and marking scheme attempts to match that of VC A exams as much as possible — the marking scheme is beneficial in breaking down the question provi smaller mini questions. Furthermore, the detailed solutions — perhaps the most important com tudy guide — will explain how to logically process the question and structure your respons ent requirements of the question. 3. The final exam is very time-constrained — in fact, I rem This book will allow you to practice your time manag answer questions within the required time frame. plan’ or ‘plan of attack’ for your actual assessm Just remember that you’ve picked one of th of the only subjects with knowledge that

Command Term List. Assessors often highlight in Business Management examination reports that students are not aware of the requirements of command terms. The below list contains the most common task words that will appear in your end of year exam. It is important that you understand what the command terms mean and be able to satisfy different command terms within a much larger question. A useful strategy which I applied during my SACs was to read through the question and highlight every command term I came across — this ensured that I was satisfying every component of the question. I encourage you to adopt the same approach so you can maximise the amount of marks earned. Command outline define state identify distinguish describe explain discuss compare evaluate

Managing Employees: additional 10 mark question. Well done on completing this practice test. Now let’s give you some practice on completing ten markers – which is the question of the exam that can easily shift your study score depending on how you answer it! You will become better at completing these question types when you begin exam revision, however, it is important to practice a range of ten markers throughout the year. You shouldn’t think of it as a long essay you have to write, but rather, a series of mini questions that can be answered within a much larger question. Here are some tips for responding to the ten-marker: • ensure that your response is paragraphed • ensure that you signpost so examiners can clearly follow your train of thought • ensure that you have an introduction and concluding statement – thi for an English subject and this services to give your writing structu • ensure you underline key words in the response – the ten-m requires a lot of writing in order to score in the higher brack to keep track of the important details amidst all the fluff
