Verb there is/there are: Interrogative form Hello dear students! Welcome to the grammar section. Today we’re going see the verb “There is/there are” in the interrogative form. To make questions we have to change the position of the verb To Be: There is a good restaurant near here. Is there a good restaurant near here? There are good restaurants near here. Are there any good restaurants near here?
Here, we have some more examples: Is there a beautiful park near here? Yes, there is. (short affirmative answer) No, there isn’t. (short negative answer) Are there any beautiful parks near here? Yes, there are. No, there aren’t. Is there a dictionary on your desk? Yes, there is. It’s an English dictionary. (extra information) No, there isn't. Are there three dictionaries on your desk? Yes, there are. No, there aren’t. There are books and pens. (extra information)
