2/9/20 Damon German Review Topic: Project Deliverables Title: What Are Project Deliverables?

Simply put a project deliverable is the result of the project or the processes in the project. That means a deliverable can be something as big as the objective of the project itself or the reporting that is part of the larger project. Another way to put that is that there are inputs and outputs in every type of project. ProjectManager.com provides examples of deliverables such as: Data, Resources, Documents, etc. Deliverables can vary according to the project’s specifications and the stakeholders’ requirements, but all clients and stakeholders want deliverables that thoroughly wrap up the project at its closure and measure performance against expectations throughout the project. Different stakeholders have different needs, so flexibility and customization is import for effective reporting. Creating deliverables for stakeholders is much easier using these types of reports: Project Status Reports, Variance Report, and Timesheet Report. Final deliverables outline a project’s entire scope of work, while deliverables created during earlier phases of a project are based on short-term snapshots of project activity.

Deliverables are very important aspects of delivery of project at the different stages. They help the clients to know the project progress or what is anticipated. Proper project management requires that there are good deliverables and that there is progress in the project.

For our project our deliverables need to be well thought out due to the nature of our project (an app). For example, one particular deliverable I have in mind for our project would be a Database and Table Creation because our app is going to need software. This deliverable would showcase all the type of content we require through our app so that the software can be produced to match what we are asking for. Without deliverables projects would not flourish in today’s world. They are very important to all aspects of every and any project. I hope that from what I learned from this article I can apply all the different aspects and unique ideas on the types of deliverables for our project and beyond.
