What is race? Race to some people may be a way to organized humans into groups or can be based on skin color. Society created an atmosphere to be able to use stereotypes to discriminate another race. That is how people learn at an early age from strangers or their own families about race through physical characteristics. As a person of color, it’s most likely to hear comments or remarks about who people think you are based on the color of the skin, age, and clothes. This is a result of stereotype based on what society has made up because of a single person actions/appearance. At the early age of, 8, Dominique Matti was introducing to what her race is like. She wrote in her article “Why I'm Absolutely an Angry Black Woman”,” Because I was in third grade the first time a teacher seemed shocked at how “well spoken” I was” (Matti 1). At an early age of development Matti didn't understand what the teacher really meant so Matti probably took it as a compliment. This third-grade teacher saw that she was a young female black girl, she used the color of her skin and her age to make assumption of who she is like being uneducated and talking crooked English. At some point of everyone’s life they have faced or seen race happening. In order to stop associating race with false assumption people need to be more aware of what around them or else de facto segregation will become a part of everyone's daily life....
