PURPOSE OF MEDICATION
Expected Pharmacological Action The oil is used as simulative laxative. It contains ricinoleic, and fatty acids.
Therapeutic Use The oil is used as a simulative laxative.
Complications Some patients can experience abdominal cramps, diarrhea, nausea, dizzness, and hypotention.You can also become dehydrated.
Medication Administration if you are constipated you take 15-60ML PO once a day
Contraindications/Precautions Becarefuk when taking this while being pregnant. It can cause premature labor. You can get hypersensitivty, severe impaction, and appenicitis.
Interactions There are no found interactions with any other drugs.
Nursing Interventions The nurse should let pregnant woman know that they should ask the doctor before taking any of it. If patients use this for long term they can get weakness,and orthostatic hypotension.
Client Education Evaluation of Medication Effectiveness Most people have a bowel movement within the first 2-3 hours if not then it does take 6-12 hours. It is best effective when taken in the morning.
