Who is creating the new government? Where does the document identify the people behind the Articles?

Delegates of the “States of New-hampshire, Massachusetts-bay, Rhodeisland and Providence Plantations, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, North-Carolina, SouthCarolina, and Georgia” (from the preamble)

What do the states retain in this confederacy? Which article discusses what the states keep in the deal?

Each state is entitled to their own independence and jurisdiction if it is not already controlled under federal government. Article II talks about the states’ rights to sovereignty and liberty.

What kind of relationship does the Articles propose? Which article discusses how the states will work together?

The states are meant to be friendly with one another and assist each other in upholding defense and liberty for the US. Every citizen within the states no matter their economic stance are entitled to rights and are permitted to the same judicial law under the federal government. This is talked about in Article III and IV.

Article IV discusses the concept of “Full Faith and Credit” of the states. Based on your reading of this Article, what does this concept mean, in practice, for the confederacy?

I believe this means that the states will remain honest and accountable when it comes to surrendering/capturing fugitives in any state. The states will cooperate with the federal government laws and in turn they will see justice served. The criminals who are captured and relocated to their correct jurisdiction will adhere to those state laws. The state within jurisdiction will be have the ability to convict and indict.



Which governmental entity has responsibility for international relations? (i.e., treaties)



How many states have to I believe it took 13 states to ratify the agree to amend the document, so all 13 would have to agree to Articles of Confederation? amend it. It states that no alterations are allowed to the articles of confederation unless elected by congress and confirmed the legislature in every state.

No state is allowed to receive an embassy or create an agreement with another country or ruler. Congress is also not allowed to title nobility, and no two or more states can enter into an alliance with another country. They are also not allowed to impose duties on imported goods or have war vessels. Overall, international relations and areas surrounding that issue, is solely limited to the federal government....
