Visitor Presence During COVID-19 Response Date Effective: 11:00am, 28 May 2021 Approved by: Director of Medical Services/COVID-19 Response Incident Controller, LBHS

Please note that the situation surrounding COVID-19 is evolving and this information will be updated frequently in line with this. Applicable to: all staff, Logan and Beaudesert Health Service Purpose: As part of the Logan and Beaudesert Health Service infection control response to COVID-19, measures will be taken in alignment with relevant policy to protect all patients, visitors, our staff and the community we serve. While it is acknowledged that families and carers are essential to patient health and wellbeing, visitation restrictions are in place to slow the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) and to protect patients, visitors (and their families) and staff during the pandemic response. Procedure: 1. Visitation processes are to comply with the Queensland Health Hospital Visitors Direction (No.20) 2. Consistent with this, as at 28 May 2021 there is restricted visitation to Logan and Beaudesert Hospitals for visitors who have been in the interstate areas listed in the direction. 3. Hospital services are required to ensure there is a process for ensuring that staff (including regular contractors), volunteers and students in their areas are aware of and meet the direction. 4. Visitors must not attend if they have a fever or symptoms of respiratory tract infection, require quarantine/isolation or are close contact of a person with confirmed COVID-19. 5. Entrance points to hospital buildings are to indicate the relevant restrictions and guide visitors to appropriate points of entry. 6. At designated times and visitor points of entry a Concierge Service will support this process by: a) Confirming whether a person entering is a staff member (including regular contractors), student/volunteer or patient/visitor. Note that a person entering for the purpose of receiving a COVID vaccination is considered a patient. b) For patients and visitors (including ad hoc service providers e.g. deliveries), asking Screening Questions of patients and visitors as per Box 1:

Box 1. Patient and Visitor Screening Questions (LBHS, as at 28 May 2021) 1. The unit manager is to liaise with relevant senior treating staff to formulate an appropriate clinical plan for the patient.
