Diversity in History As we look into history, diversity had a significant impact. Looking through the history lens helped me to understand the advantages society had over the many years. Historians have kept the history in the new development with new questions, approaches, and methods. Without history, we wouldn't have known the major events and different cultures, races, and genders' roles in the significant events. America has been diverse from the early ages. There are numerous Native American tribes, and each interacted with the settlers differently. The first and earliest settlers and colonists were European from different origins than the French, the Spanish, the Dutch, and the English. A vast swath of African cultures, through the slave trade and made their way over to the new world early. The current event in the news is COVID-19. COVID-19 pandemic came to public attention, similar to the 1918 influenza have been invoked to explain how to flatten the curve through social distancing, the efficacy of masks, and the advisability of school closings. At the onset of the current pandemic, predictions of hundreds of thousands of US deaths seemed to prompt health officials and segments of the public to take the disease more seriously and understand the need for significant mitigation measures. Especially from my experience, National Guard in all states got activated and supported through the testing sites, transportation of food, equipment, and now vaccination. New York National Guard soldiers came together working long hours, deploying soldiers to several different in the states. Without the concern of culture, race, and background, I see soldiers work as a team. Many of them developed a new friendship, understanding and became a good team....
