The universal idea of Anne Frank’s diary is to represent how war and violence affect families and cause separation. I also found that while what Anne and her family endured were horrific events, you can see the good in human nature. Through her diary you can understand how she was able to remain positive through it all and how she found love in an unlikely situation. You read about the risks and the sacrifices her family and friends made and the courage they had to protect one another. Anne’s story is a representation of hope for a better world than the one she wrote about. From the culture in which it was created we can infer that the artifact of Anne’s diary holds a bank of first-hand accounts of the fear that Anne was feeling and the experiences of the Jewish life during the holocaust. The diary illustrates how the society was affected during the holocaust and forced her family into hiding. I believe Anne created this diary as an outlet for her emotions so that she could safely reflect on how she was feeling about the situations and people surrounding her. She created this diary to outline milestones of adolescence that she was experiencing, her dreams, and fears....
