4-1 Discussion Humanities and Other Disciplines

Compared to what you know about the methods of disciplines such as mathematics, the natural sciences (e.g., biology, chemistry), or the social sciences (e.g., psychology, sociology), what do you think is unique about the methods used to investigate the humanities? If you have any questions for your peers, feel free to include them as part of your response. The way that I view humanities is a bit like science. It has a way of changing over time, what we may see as correct today, can be completely different or incorrect in the future. It is unique in itself because of the different factors that have influence on how we view the humanities. When every you look at a math problem, you take it one step at a time and solve the problem to come up with an answer. This answer will not vary based on culture; it will not change on demographic. However, humanities can change within seconds of someone’s opinions. I find humanities to be very interesting because it is what sets morals for society. Humanities are all around us, not just in literature, art, and music....
