Description

How do our attitudes impact our view of gender? Our attitudes impact our views of gender is when a child is growing up, little girls are to play with dolls, play with their kitchen sets, dolls and wear dresses. Some have the perception of being a stay at home mother because that was what they were taught( some parents were stay at home). Little boys were to be breadwinners and they played with little boy stuff, such as cars and figurines, little soldiers. They way children played back then was teaching them the way of living. How does personal belief impact our view of normal and abnormal? We immediately think of what's right in front of us; unique languages different clothes, and diverse food. A society's culture also impacts a person's beliefs norms, and values. It impacts how we view certain ideas or behaviors. In this case, some people impact their viewson what's normal and abnormal such as a man cannot be with another man and many are accepatable with two woman but some say its abnormal, however our personal beliefs should not dictate some's happiness and the world has changed from back then. Does culture play a role in our perceptions of gender? The beliefs that we hold are an important part of our identity in some places their cultures. They may be relious, cultural, or moral. Beliefs are prscious because they reflect who we are and how we live our lives. Gender role beliefs refer to general perception of gender roles such as gender related task and power distribution. The social role approach, the predominant approach to understanding gender role beliefs, attributes the sources of these beliefs to the different social roles performed by men and women (Eagly and Wood 1991). In what ways can one validate an individual’s gender expression? One can validate an individual by their body type oe they way they may carry themselves. Gender expression is how a person publicly expresses or presents their gender. This can include behaviour and outward appearance such as dress, hair, make-up, body language and voice. How does the concept of gender dysphoria apply to any of the following programmatic themes? The concept of gender dysphoria that i feel applies to the programmatic themes is self care because those with gender dysphoria are still trying to figure themselves out and wanting to be accepted. I also feel another programmatic theme is social justice because they are still seeking justice to just be themselves. They want to be want to be accepted and treated like everyone else in the community....
