1. Why did you select your news story? What about the story makes it interesting to you both personally and scientifically? I selected my news story because it was interesting, and I know that it is an issue that many people struggle with today. The part that made me curious was the results that they found while experimenting on the worms. 2. What did you already know about the topic before selecting the news story? What opinions or assumptions had you made about it? I wouldn’t say that I had any prior knowledge on the topic before selecting it other than knowing that obesity and sleep were things that I know many people struggle with. I have subconsciously observed that those that typically do not have regular sleep schedules tend to gain weight, but I have never studied this issue any deeper. 3. Which concepts covered in the course relate to your news story? How? I believe that everything in its own way has relevance to my news story, but the thing that probably has the most relevance would probably be the scientific questions that have to be asked. The reason being because you ask yourself questions about things daily, but you don’t necessarily use the depth provided by the way the questions are worded. 4. What question do you have about the topic in the news story? Select one question that interests you based on your topic exploration graphic organizer and previous responses. The question that I have about the topic in the news story would be the following: What new developments have they had since the article has been published and have, they used the results to test the results on other subjects? 5. Why would this question be important to a natural scientist? This question would be important to a natural scientist because this branch of science is reliant on the ability to predict and understand issues. This question would help lead them to other ways to help people....
