Social-Emotional Functioning Interviews Parent Interview – During the parent interview, Kelly, the school psychologist, used locally developed questions to interview Giselle’s mother on February 10, 2017. During this interview Giselle’s mother, Brittany, expressed her concerns about Giselle’s aggressive behavior and her performance in reading. She identified Giselle has strengths in math and athletics and enjoys these activities. At home, Giselle gets angered when asked to perform tasks and reacts by yelling, door slamming, and throwing objects. These tantrums last anywhere from a few minutes to a couple hours. Teacher Interview – Brittany, the school psychologist, interviewed Giselle’s teacher, Kelly Nichols, regarding his concerns with Giselle’s classroom behavior using locally developed questions on February 10, 2017. Mr. Nichol’s expressed his concerns with Giselle’s aggressive behavior towards her peers in the classroom. He reported that she refuses to do work, does not sit in her seat, and has pushed over chairs when agitated. He reported that these behaviors occur in the classroom at least 3 times a week. He identified weakness in staying on task, reading and writing. Behavioral Observations: On February 23, 2017 Giselle was observed using the BOSS system during her 4th grade math class with Mr. Nichols for approximately 10 minutes. Giselle was observed displaying actively engaged on task behavior 51% of the time while her peers were observed displaying the

same behavior 44% of the time. Giselle displayed passively engaged on task behavior 49% of the time and peers were observed passively on task 44% of the time. Overall, Giselle and peers spent about half the time actively engaged and the other half of the time passively engaged, though there was some off task behavior. Giselle displayed...
