Course Description and Objectives: Discusses statistical models for analysis and prediction of random phenomena. Topics include review of descriptive statistics, Inference and hypotheses testing, linear models, both Regression and ANOVA. Introduces design of experiments with single and multiple factors of interest, and distribution-free procedures. Coursework: Homework assignments, one midterm and a final exam, with final grades: H.W. and projects: 30% Midterm exam 30% Final exam 40% Exams are closed book with limited access, closed notes. Assignments are intended to reinforce concepts of the course topics and to encourage students to keep up with the material. No makeup will be given for any missing assignments and exams. The exams will be held in Nu campus, unless you have an approved proctor and arranged a different exam time/location with the instructor or the TA. Homework: must be submitted on Wednesdays by 9:50 a.m. See the instructions on how to submit your H.W. and Projects on the assignment section of the Bb. The title of your H.W. should include IE7280, your name, assignment # and date. You will get a good grade if your solution is neat, organized, well presented and demonstrates understanding of the topic. You will earn an average grade if your solution is neat, organized, and well presented. For any questions related to your H.W. you must contact the TA first.
