Ageing is a natural biological process wherein an individual becomes older with time. As a person ages the functions of the cells and most of the parts and organs of the body also begin to age. The cells lose their capacity to divide this is one of the reason why old people don’t heal fast if wounded. It has various effects on the bodily functions. Ageing leads to decrease in body weight after 55 years of age. The body fat also decreases as a person ages. 5% to 10% of neurons are lost by the age of 70 thereby decreasing the transmitting of impulses. In spite of decrease in neurons due to ageing, memory loss occurs due to specific diseases that interfere with the functioning of the brain. As ageing proceeds the biological clock starts to decrease.
Therefore option (a), (b) and (d) are incorrect.
Decrease in adipose tissues in older people leads to decreased ability to adjust to the changing temperature. An older person feels cold easily and sweats little. Due to reduced perspiration, they have increased chances of heart stroke.
Therefore option (c) is correct....
