A Quilt of a Country The United States of America, "A nation under God" is a place where people of different Race and ethnicity can live, and no matter how different someone may be, America has a notion of how “all men are created equal. In the article “A Quilt of a Country,” Anna Quindlen, the author of the passage, makes the argument of how America lies to itself by saying “all men are created are equal, however, the people living here are very discriminating towards each other because some people believe that the way they think is superior to others. She wrote this article to inform people that The United States is a special country that holds the lives of many different ethnicities and cultures. taking into account the United States' intentions and way of thinking, it supports the claim because people from around the world, no matter how different they may be, people can live in this country and create a new lifestyle for themselves. However, because of America’s ideal of being able to have their own beliefs, many people are even more prone to be discriminating towards each other, believing the way they think is how everyone should be thinking, and that everyone else’s beliefs are wrong. The counterclaim could be that people in the country of America, cannot live in peace because everyone has different religions and beliefs. People who are so different can't just simply live in peace next to someone who has no intention of respecting the other’s beliefs. This is why there is so much destruction and violence in America recently because everyone thinks way differently and simply does not agree with other’s opinions....
