ADMISSION INTO THE BRIDGING PROGRAMME IN FINANCE IN 2019 It is my pleasure to offer you a place in the Bridging Programme in Finance at the University of Johannesburg (UJ) for the 2019 academic year. Your admission to the Bridging Programme in Finance is, however, conditional on the following: ·

Completed Bachelor’s Degree, related B Tech degree or a related National Diploma

You will not be allowed to proceed with the programme if the above requirements are not met. This is because the above requirements are required for further study, such as an honours qualification. Should you register for the programme and not meet the above requirements, your registration will be cancelled. Please note that there is a portion of the registration fee that is not refundable. IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING THE ADMINISTRATION, REGISTRATION AND FINANCES OF THE BRIDGING PROGRAMME IN FINANCE 1.

Documentation

If this is your first application to UJ, and you have not submitted all the relevant documentation with your application form, then you MUST submit the following original certified documents, on the day of registration at the latest. A student will not be allowed to register if all the documentation below has not been submitted (with the exception of the degree certificate). a) Academic record including final results, with a certificate of good conduct stating that your degree was obtained (this can be obtained from the University where you completed your undergraduate degree);

Your registration dates will be communicated to you during November 2018. You need to ensure that you register within the specified registration period. However, please be advised that, due to space constraints, registration within the specified registration period is dependent on space availability. Registration dates can be found on the UJ website at www.uj.ac.za from December 2018.

Please note that all admitted International Applicants are required by the University to comply with the following requirements before registration can take place. 1. STUDY VISA All registering International students are required to provide a valid study visa in the name of the University of Johannesburg, issued by a South African Visa Issuing Authority. 2. FEES Information on tuition and other fees due for 2019 will be available during November 2018. Please visit the UJ website at www.uj.ac.za for more information. All privately (i.e. Self, Parent/s or Guardian) funded international students are required to pay their tuition and of campus residence fees as follows: An upfront payment of 30% of tuition and of campus residence fees must be paid before or at registration. 35% of the tuition and of campus residence fees to be paid by 30 April. 35% of the tuition and of campus residence fees to be paid by 31 July. The University will offer a 5% discount should the full fees be paid before or at registration. All sponsored (Government, Organisation or Company) international students will need to provide a letter confirming the sponsorship.

You will need to provide proof of medical aid cover (comprehensive South African registered medical aid cover) paid up for the year. (For all medical aid schemes registered in South Africa, please visit www.medicalschemes.com). You will need to provide a valid study visa issued in the name of the University of Johannesburg, issued by a South African Visa Issuing Authority. In terms of the provisions of the South African Immigration Act No. 13 of 2002, Asylum Seekers and Refugees are required to register with a valid Asylum Seeker and Refugee permit and are exempted from paying an international levy and providing proof of medical aid cover. ENGLISH PROFICIENCY TEST All registering International students who have not studied in English are required to provide English Proficiency Test results. Only the following will be accepted: IELTS with an overall score of 7 and TOEFL at an average score of 105 –120. Alternatively, you may elect to write the University of Johannesburg English Language Programme Test (UJELP). 3. IMMIGRATION UNDERTAKING The University confirms that you will not be taking the place of a South African and undertakes to fully comply with applicable immigration laws of the Republic of South Africa: Provide proof of registration as contemplated in the relevant legislation within 60 days of registration; or In the event of failure to register by the closing date, provide the Director-General with a notification of failure to of registration; register within 7 days of the closing date Within 30 days of de-registration, notify the Director-General that the applicant is no longer registered with the University of Johannesburg; and Within 30 days of completion of studies, notify the Director-General when the applicant has completed his/her studies.
