ACKNOWLEDGEMENT This research was supported by our App 006 Practical Research teacher Ma’am Catherine Vergara. And we would like to take this opportunity to express our profound gratitude and deep regard to Ma’am Catherine Vergara, for her exemplary guidance, valuable feedback and constant encouragement throughout the duration of the project. Her valuable suggestions were of immense help throughout our project work. Her perceptive criticism kept us working to make this project in a much better way. Working under her was an extremely knowledgeable experience for us. We thank our colleagues from PHINMA University of Pangasinan who provided insight and expertise that greatly assisted the research, although they may not agree with all of the interpretations/conclusions of this paper. ABSTRACT The researcher conducted to determine the reason of having inadequate sleep and what are the effects of inadequate sleep to academic performance, researcher recommend that having a good sleeping habit is a must specially to those students. According to the respondents of 12ABMA from PHINMA University of Pangasinan, excessive usage of smart phones and gadgets shall be lesser to avoid the mental/breakdown. The result showed that inadequate sleep affects the academic performance of students. Having inadequate sleep can cause poor academic performance due to excessive usage of smart phones the method used was quantitative research. The researcher recommends that having a good sleeping habit is a must specially to those students, according to the research avoiding excessive usage of smart phones and gadget shall be lesser to avoid the mental/breakdown the researcher also recommend that for those who are suffering from insomnia should have a proper treatment....
