How did it make you feel? During the professional careers networking event I was excited at the opportunity to be exposed to information from a diverse group of Western alumni that would help me in the future. This event also made me feel quite scared that I was not putting as much effort as the speakers did during their time in Western Sydney University. However, this did motivate me to put more effort into my studies and actively try to communicate with others through social media such as Linked in; in order to expand my network in my chosen professions and build my portfolio for my career outside the university. What did you learn about, for example, yourself or your future graduate career? After attending the webinar, I learnt in order to succeed in your career path you must expose yourself to employers actively through social media and in person events. For example, when the key speaker Nikki Herald spoke about degrees in the workplace stating “your degree only gets you a ticket in the door” really highlighted that at the end of my university journey I can’t just rely on my degree and must have other substances such as soft skills and personality traits that put me ahead of other competitors What connections can you make to the weekly readings you have learned so far? The webinar really connected well with the work done in the week 5 portfolio especially when Sam Cuccurullo focused on the ideas of career development and how it had to be different. Especially when he stated “In the recruitment process we look for passion and someone who knows themselves” which made a great connection to Week 5’s work reflecting on the skills of employability. Particularly when the webinar made reference to the

what qualities an employer looks for which was discussed in week 5 discussing the qualities that would benefit the employer and if I possess those qualities myself.

Nice to meet you sir, How was your day I'm currently studying a full time bachelor degree at Western Sydney University for three years. One of my greatest strengths is my ability to make the conceptual practice of property and put into action. I’m currently working part-time as a retail specialist at Woolworths; teaching me the importance of teamwork, logistics and the supply chain management between the business and the consumer. I'm interested in securing an entry level position to teach and develop my knowledge of property even further. Studying a 3 year course I'm continuing my development of property and expect to get my certifications of property services and license straight after my degree to further my knowledge and pave my way forward in the profession in a residential or corporate firm.
