Nowadays, the healthcare sector is faced with competition as it has been changed to a profitable business among some healthcare service providers. Most of them care about making profits without regard for the quality of service in their privately-owned Health facilities. Consequently, it contributes to the development of society at large. Despite the positive impacts of free healthcare, there are negatives, including the possibility of degrading the quality of service. The thousands of patients flocking at hospitals outdo the service providers in the health facilities, who are forced to work for long hours, hence may course “increased chance of a mistake or malpractice” (Gibson, 2020). Also, free healthcare may make some people irresponsible due to the free access to health services. They may become ignorant of embracing healthy lifestyles. Free healthcare is associated with longer waiting periods at healthcare facilities due to the high population of healthcare service seekers.
