Agile World Questions 1. Why does the classic waterfall project planning model fail in this situation? What is it about the IT department’s processes that leads to their finished systems being rejected constantly? Ideally, the classic waterfall project planning model is a form of sequential process and it is made of up of quite a number of phases. The phases must be followed accordingly before proceeding to the phase ahead. When a mistake is made and attempts made to go back to a previous phase, it becomes incredibly costly, and time consuming. In this regard the classic waterfall planning model failed due to the fact that some technologies tend to fade away of change rapidly. In this sense, the IT department needs to develop a new and unique software that takes into account agile planning so that the upgrade software can have advanced features. Notably, the final products are rejected constantly because of the stiff software development process and the inefficient coordination with the consumers. 2. How would an Agile methodology correct some of these problems? What new development cycle would you propose? Typically, the Agile methodology will allow for the incorporation of crucial revises and reviews throughout the phase development cycles. This implies that when a mistake or an error occurs in a previous phase, the error can be corrected to facilitated operationality. Further, the agile methodology will make it easier for the end user to relay their feedback concerning the developed software. A proposal in this case would be that business requirements should be updated often and planned carefully beforehand. 3.

Why are “user stories” and system “features” critical components of an effective IT

software development process?

They are critical because they enable changing technologies to be incorporated in the development process. Moreover, they are equally essential due to their usefulness in the development of collaborative designs methods. Finally, they play a crucial role in the determination and establishment of a project’s functional requirements. 4. Using the terms “Scrum,” “Sprint,” and “User stories,” create an alternative development cycle for a hypothetical software Because scrum work is usually split down into smaller time frames (sprint), the overall duration would be rather short. Therefore, the development team utilized in the development process would be more distinct compared to the classic project waterfall model. Since the development team would be smaller, the team would be required to be consistent and make minimal errors during the development process. Notably, the workload for he team would be higher than usual because of their reduced numbers.
