By getting to know your own communication style, it will be easier to understand other's communication styles and how to deal/manage other communicators. See below two attachments, a total of 4 communication styles. READ THEM CAREFULLY, using a Microsoft word document, write down which kind(s) of communicator are you? Why? How do you know? And which type of communicators do you have a hard time communicating with? (Give examples). 300 words and more. Also add the following in your word document. 'After reading these documents, do you think you can manage other communicators better? Why?'

Out of all the four different types of communicational styles, Risk Taker is the one I personally relate to. I believe that I am always confident and bold when it comes to communicating with others. It is very easy for me to approach and start up a conversation with strangers. Most of the times I prefer being direct and brief and sometimes thus might come off as rude. I prefer keeping upfront and the delivery is usually quite gallant as well. I believe that communicating in this sense helps us convey our message and feeling exactly how they are, which leaves no room for misunderstandings. Even though the place one can misunderstand is when the delivery of the message may be too bold for somebody or the person may not be ready to handle the harsh truth. Sometimes this may also end up hurting others feelings unintentionally. Inevitably some times when I may get too excited in the moment, I end up interrupting others which also sometimes offends the other person, or just have their chance to deliver something in the group interrupted. I always make sure I have a lot of joy involved when I talk to people I like or about something I enjoy. Most of the times I prefer being goal oriented and the main focus is to make sure that the communication needs to be strong so that the goal can be easily accomplished. I am very much aware of how my body language affects the way I communicate with others. Most of the times I try to keep my posture straight and not slouch. Using hand gestures and signals comes naturally which just shows that I am interested in what they are saying. Others find that I am more approachable when talking to them and sometimes they are comfortable to share their personal things. I also try to be open minded and ask questions, which I think will help me understand what they are trying to say. I have learned that it is important to listen carefully and not just talk about yourself. Communication can be a good thing if you can express your feelings without being too aggressive or rude. If you are speaking with someone who has a lot of information, then it is better to speak with them in a calm manner. This way you can get the most out of them and make sure that they feel comfortable....
