The fall of the house of Usher.

All day I had ridden through flat and uninteresting countryside. Todo el día había cabalgado por un campo llano y poco interesante. Ride, rode, ridden. Flat = llanura, pantano. Countryside = campo, campiña.

There, in front of me, stood the House of Usher. Allí, frente a mí, estaba la Casa Usher. Stand, stood, stood. = estar.

And at once a strange feeling of deep gloom came down on me and covered me like a blanket. Y de inmediato una extraña sensación de profunda tristeza cayó sobre mí y me cubrió como una manta.

The old house with its high stone walls and narrow windows. La casa vieja con sus altos muros de piedra y sus estrechas ventanas.

Every day she became weaker and thinner. Cada día se volvía más débil y delgada. Weak = débil

I realized that his sadness was too deep. Me di cuenta de que su tristeza era demasiado profunda.

Even the air around the walls and above the lake has its own life. Incluso el aire alrededor de las paredes y por encima del lago tiene vida propia.

He lifted his heavy stick and beat against the wooden door. Levantó su pesado bastón y golpeó la puerta de madera.
