Your role includes supporting company executives with various administrative functions, including writing and revising letters, documents and reports. The company’s President, Ms. Joanne Robinson, has been nominated for the Business Person of the Year Award for the Mississauga Business Achievement Awards. The organizers of the awards have asked Ms. Robertson to provide them a one-page written biography about herself so that they can include information about her on their website and use in the event program publication. They specifically want information on Ms. Robinson’s personal background, education, business career, business achievements, and community involvement. You have been provided the following information that was put together very quickly by Ms. Robinson’s secretary for you to use to create the final written submission (that will be viewed by thousands of business leaders and professionals). Info about Joanne Joanne Robinson was born in 1972 in BRAMPTON, Canada, to Kevin and Marcy Robinson. Growing up, Joanne’s parents instilled in her the impotent values of honesty hard work, an caring for others. As the eldest of five children, she supported her parents in looking after her younger siblings and performed very good in school. Throughout her teens, Joan actively participated in sports, and was the captain of her high school soccer and volleyball teams. She demonstrated a strong work ethic in both her athletics and school studies. In 1989, Joanne graduated from Mississauga Central High School as an honour roll student and earned an academic scholarship to attend York University. After complating her business degree in 1993 at York University, Joanne Robinson continued her studies by attending Western University in London, Ontario where she earned a Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA). Joanne’s business career started in 1995 when she was hired as Marketing Coordinator at Wholesome Foods, in Mississauga Ontario. In 1997, she was promoted to the position of Marketing Manager. In 2000, at the age of 28, Joanne received the Young Marketing Professional of the Year Award from the Canadian Marketing Association. That same year, Wholesome foods received the prestigious Ontario Small Business Marketing Campaign Award, presented by the Ontario Chamber of Commerce, for the marketing campaign Joanne developed for a New healthy protein bar. Joanne is very active in her home community of: Mississauga. She has been a prominent member of the Mississauga Rotary Club for 20 year and was the organizations first female member. After a very successful 15-year career at Wholesome Foods, Joanne decided to venture into running his own business. In 2010, she bought a small wood pallets recycling company in Mississauga, named it Repallets, and has since continued to serve as its President. Repallets collects old, brokken or disposed pallets from many various businesses, including manufacturing companys and warehouses, and recycles the pallets into refurbished pallets or wood chips. The pallets and wood chips are then resold, reducing the amount of waist in landfills. Repellets currently employs 50 staff and is regarded as a national leeder in environmental sustainability. The companies has steadily grown and has been consistently profitable the past 8 years. In 2019, Joanne was recognized by Canadian Business Magazine as Canadian Entrepreneur of the Year.
