1. Who are Moors? Regionally, Theologically They were known as ‘Dark-skinned savages’. They were mainly located around Spain. 2. What was the state of Recopolis and Andulus during the Visigoth Rule? Reopolis and Anudlus was on the verge of breaking apart during the Visigoth Rule. 3. Why & How did the Moors enter the Iberian Peninsula? Were they welcomed by some Iberian? They were welcomed by the Iberians. There was no sign of conflict or violence anywhere. They entered the Iberian Peninsula by foot and boat 4. What influence did the Moors have on Iberian Agricultural development and practices (i.e. Contracts) They had an irrigation system. It was a super sophisticated agriculture. 5. What influence did the Moors have on the intellectual development & utilization of reason? Many of the Moors were educated. They could read and write. The Koran required people to read it in order to live it out. 6. What influence did the Moors have on the regional Paper Industry & regional Libraries? They had several paper businesses. They loved education. 7. What influence did the Moors have on Iberian Architecture & construction practices? Their architecture was the biggest influencer of the medieval period. 8. What influence did the Moors have on the development of Science & Mathematics? They created a round clock to tell the time for prayer. 9. What were the reasons for the fall of Moorish rule in Iberia? How did other regional forces respond? Citizens didn’t have to serve in the army. The army had to recruit foreigners. The Crusades also had a hand into the fall of Moorish rule. 10. How accurately does modern Iberian history portray Moors and the leaders of Reconquista? Not very accurately. It glamorizes the leaders of Reconquista when the entire war was cruel and ugly....
