Data Set Description and Method Used for Analysis: Results:
The data is a sample from the US Department of Labor’s 2016 Consumer Expenditure Survey and provides information about the structure of households and their annual expenses. The information provided is from 30 households.
To find the median and mean I used the excel application and to find the standard deviation I used my TI-84 calculator with the stat function. STAT200: Assignment #2 - Descriptive Statistics Analysis Writeup - Template Page 1 of 6

Description of Findings. According to the histogram, most households spent from $1,394.75-$1,492.50 on yearly electricity expenses. The shape of the histogram is skewed to the left.
Discussion and Conclusion. In this data set the average income of all thirty households is $96,907 and the median being $96,907. Out of the thirty households exactly half were married and the other half were not married. The most popular family size was a household consisting of two members. The average cost of yearly housing out of the data set was $21,900.60 and the average yearly cost of electricity is $1,431.23. Out of all of the variables given, two are expenditures: housing and electricity. Housing is the highest expenditure out of the two, with an average yearly cost of $21,900.60, while electricity only being $1,431.23. Both of these expenditures are necessities for a household. However, in my opinion if you need to save a large amount of money; I think housing would be the expenditure to cut down on to save. By sizing down on the place where you live, you will see a larger amount of savings. Doing this though may make your quality of life suffer. Maybe find a house that is smaller where you do not have any extra rooms.
