Introduction In our daily lives, we use management skills. Management is an activity that aims to get things done by people and guide people's efforts towards a common goal. Management work focuses on strong leadership that promotes organisation's growth. This fact is very significant because the field of international management is continually evolving and there is always a need to make changes and find new approaches that are successful. However, managing remains anchored in the basic and foundational principle which has been held since time immemorial. When a company has good organisation's ethical principles, it is an added advantage for the business 'future function. This would be advantageous in the long term if the company were prepared to withstand the competition. (Fernando 2009). This paper will focus on managing groups and teams, and strategic management challenges as shown in the case of Virgin and Coca-Cola. Artefact 1 The four functions of management, planning, organizing, leading and controlling are very important in creating stronger organizations and even stronger, more efficient teams. Planning is one of the first and most important functions of management. Planning is the way of evaluating an organization's goals and making a plan to achieve those goals. Among the functions of planning in management is to guarantee the proper and optimal utilization of the human and the non-human resources at the disposal of an organization (Tillman & Cassone, 2012). The management of Coca-Cola has set goals and targets as part of the planning process, and has decided on strategies and steps to achieve the goals. Coca-Cola's planning has developed around a mission which has developed gradually over time. The mission statement, or broad declaration of purpose and scope of operations, distinguishes Coca-Cola from other organisations over the years. However Coca-Cola’s mission is based upon a vision statement for 2020 focuses on five factors: people, portfolio, planet, profit and productivity The company believes that the key part of its vision for people and the planet is to focus on protecting and improving the welfare of society and its own interests. The company is engaging with local government as part of the strategic planning process to promote recycling. Strategic planning is a core feature of the management of an organisation that helps set targets, distribute resources and ensure that everybody works towards common objectives and goals. Its goal is to achieve 100 per cent recycling of its disposable bottles. But, its strategic planning can be perceived in both positive and negative ways, based on their mission and vision.

Every year, Australians purchase 12 billion containers, and most do not dispose of them in the most useful manner although a 'cash for cans' movement has been running successfully for several years in South Australia. Surprisingly the company instituted legal proceedings against the Government of Northern Territories when it wanted to impose a 10 cent bottle recycling levy aimed at eliminating waste and increasing recycling which is also the vision and mission of Coca-Cola company. Ironically, Coca-Cola claimed it would add to their customers living costs, while neglecting the customer's importance of the refund, as was the cost to the planet. Unfortunately, given the company's vision and mission goals it continues to be a leader in protecting and improving the society. One could clearly see there is a disconnection between the stated vision and mission of the company and its actions. If coke wants to take sustainability seriously, it needs to start supporting recycling programs and not trying to stop them. It will make sure that their acts serve to reinforce the credibility of the business in the minds of the people. Being honest with the vision statement is important to gain customer’s loyalty, earn their trust and successfully build credibility for the company brand. Once the customers misled , the company will begin to lose their credibility, and with it, the trust. It is next to impossible to retain a customer who doesn’t trust the company.

Artefact 2 On the other hand the virgin case is one of management style and the organization culture. The article focused on the current management of the workforce of Virgin, which is responsible for the performance of the company. Organizational culture positively influences employees’ performance and behaviours through integrated collective values, beliefs, and assumptions. (Hartnell CA, AY Ou and A Kinicki 2011) In the case of Virgin, its chairman, Sir Richard Brason, has been exerting effort to show the ideal behaviours for his employees to follow. To show how to open communications will benefit the whole organization, He has set an example by giving his phone number to his employees. Life management means doing things to achieve the goals of life and maintaining an organization means doing things via other people to gain their goals (Management study HQ, n.d).The backbone of successful organizations is good management. The important aspects of management are Communication, Positivity, and having an assistive mindset are very crucial for every organization. Workplace communication is vital to every organization in order to be productive and operate smoothly. An important aspect of having proper communication in the workplace is to ensure that everyone is given a voice. Having their voices heard and listened to leads to job satisfaction. Managers need to be effective in working different contexts, as we need to understand that the context level is low and high. Low-level context individuals have good effective professional communication, a simple and clear communication that is very explicit. Where else, high-level context people assume a shared context for a larger body. They have a good, more implicit or layered communication (Meyer, E 2014).Sir Richard Brisson has highlighted that a well-established line of communication should reach out to all members of an organization regardless of level and rank. Good communication is an essential tool in achieving productivity and maintaining strong relationships at all levels of an organisation. Sir Richard Branson has also mentioned the important aspects in order to keep an engaging and effective communication are ‘Choose the right channel’ , ‘Work together’ and ‘do it yourself’. ‘Choosing

the right channel’ is to ensure that the intended message reaches out to each and every member of the organization. ‘Work together’ collaborate with members and expedite the given task together. ‘Do it yourself’ as no one else can portray a message clearer than the person itself. Efficiency needs to be upheld and ethical criteria maintained in all aspects for the employees to ensure that the organization uses their human resources to the fullest extent possible to contribute to the organization's success. Sir Richard Branson believes that the success of his business is linked to keeping each of the Virgin companies small within the larger Virgin group according to their talents, and that he retains a financial interest in each of the companies he has formed. Cohesiveness among groups is also an essential part of team processes. The more integrated a group is, the better it can work. The team members will have common attitudes and values for achieving high success standards and quality service. Performance is significant, since communication and job satisfaction are good.

Microcredential Emotional intelligence is the ability to perceive and be mindful of one's feelings and emotions, and be able to interpret and understand the emotions of the people around us. I learned that It is important to get a better understanding of our own emotions to be able to control our own emotions. Improving our emotional intelligence requires discipline, commitment and confidence. Researchers have found that many leadership skills, innovative, strategic management requires the ability to analyze emotions and others emotions. (Razet,2005). Understanding the emotions of others in leading and managing is essential. One of the responsibilities of leaders is to make the significant improvements in the company and, if they are aware of the possible emotional responses of others to these improvements, they will evaluate and prepare the best ways to make them possible. Leaders and managers with a high emotional intelligence level are exceptionally good at handing over different job circumstances and stress. Daniel Goleman has suggested that The skills involved in emotional intelligence are self-awareness, self-regulation, motivation, empathy, and social skills. The more each of these fields is managed by a leader, the greater is their emotional intelligence. Linkidin Firstly I have chosen to populate my profile by uploading the most professional snapshot of myself that i have. An interesting image is far more likely to catch the attention of potential employers eyes than text alone and as well as creates the first impression. I have also made my profile stand out by turning my summary field into my story by adding my top biggest achievements instead of listing my experiences and job title. I have listed my relevant skills in my profile headline believing that it provides a platform for employers to endorse me. I have also filled my accomplishment section with projects that I have worked on and other credentials that I have earned. A study by LinkedIn shows that 20% of hiring managers make a hiring decision based on the volunteer work experience of an applicant (Alison Doyle, 2019) as they consider volunteer work equally as valuable as paid work experience. Hence I have included my most valuable volunteer work experiences to boost my hiring rate.

Conclusion In conclusion the E-portfolio experience provided me a chance to reflect upon my strengths and weaknesses, and strive to improve in my academics as well as in person. It provided an opportunity for me to critically assess my academic work and highlight myself even better than one page resume. Through it I have reflected upon what I have done over years, what I have learned from them and how I can apply all the knowledge and skills I have gained to my future jobs environment and more importantly to the world surrounding me. I am a really visual person and the e-portfolio design has been easy to use and it has also helped me fulfill the objective of connecting my personal work to my personal goal.
